Coffee? Who needs coffee to keep yourself going when you wake up at 11 every day, spend the first 45 minutes of your time checking email and every one of your favorite websites. Then it's shower time and even by the time you get out it's the afternoon already and you haven't even looked outside to check what the weather is like. Spend the next 20 minutes sitting at the computer again, turn on itunes, start 3 conversations in AIM all without even caring to get dressed as your feet are still wet from the shower and you're sitting in your towel. Still don't even know if it's raining, snowing or sunny outside. Do a search on amazon and rollingstone on some band you heard on Conan or Letterman last night, then ask your friends if they've heard of them. IM atleast 2 links of some funny, or interesting articles to a buddy, who either loves what you send or could care less. Sift through itunes to make a change to what your listening to, turn it up really loud and then find the latest Microsoft bashing article you can find, usually on Wired.com and have a good laugh because it's funny because it's true. Then smile, because you have a mac and it's the best computer you've ever owned. It's running OS X and it's a breeze. It doesn't crash or stutter every five minutes like Windows and everything looks pretty. Time to put some clothes on because you're getting cold. Go downstair to check the caller ID and answering machine because you woke up at 11 and the phone never wakes you up. Grab something to drink and head back up to your Mac shrine. Time for your first days check of 3 seperate job search websites. A new job opportunity is brewing just on the horizon, you can taste it. Another email just came in, it's Blockbuster and they've shipped the next movie out of your queue. You're happy. You love Starwars and can't help yourself from looking for new images from Revenge of the Sith that have leaked to the internet. You go to great lengths to find them, even searching sites in foreign languages. A site starts loading slowly and you wonder what's the problem so you take a peek at the blinking lights on your cable modem. The light under DATA is blinking steadily. It's not your problem it's the server from the website your on. Time to see if there are any new trailers at quicktime.com another service brought to you by the geniuses at Apple and their highspeed servers. Life seems good. I don't need coffee I've got plenty of A.D.D. from highspeed internet, cable tv, videogames and movies. Maybe I'll leave the house now, go buy the album of that band I saw on tv last night. Or maybe I'll just order it off amazon. I don't know what to do, I can't make decisions like this. I'll argue about it to myself for the next 3 hours. I'll put my shoes on, I'll even get my coat, put my wallet in my back pocket and get my cell phone. I'll still argue whether to go out or not and all that time I'll be talking to my other unemployed friends or friends on break from a class at their college or I'll even talk to friends who have jobs, who are at work but they don't really do anything there, they just sit at their desks all day talking on AIM, updating their blogs, being bored till their faces melt off, constantly looking over their shoulders so not to be found out of the naughty things they've been doing online. Now this is boring me, time to go argue whether or not I'll leave the house today, and hell no I don't feel like I have the time to spell check this crap that probably only 5 people will ever read. Besides, the power of the blog is insignifcant next to the power of the force.

The CRT Strikes Back.
Happy New Year! What will 2005 hold for electronics this year? What amazing new advances will we see? Still looking for that new television set? Thinking about getting one of those LCD or Plasma screens? Think again. This is the year the CRT strikes back. For those who don't know what a CRT is, that would be the standard, old type of televisions and computer monitors we are all used to. You know, those big, bulky and heavy screens we all grew up with. Well this year they will strike back with avengence. How will they do that you ask? Because sometime this year, perhaps during the summer manufacturers will start releasing flat panel CRT screens. That means CRTs will be nearly as flat and as light as both LCD and Plasma screens. Now, unless you live under a rock and don't know any of the differences between CRTs, LCDs, and Plasma screens all you need to know is that the CRT (which by the way is technology as old or older then our Grandparents) is capable of greater picture quality than LCD and Plasma screens. They also last longer, have greater viewing angles and also todays CRTs don't suffer from the common problems seen with LCD and plasma screens. Such as, screen burn-in most common in plasma screens, and they handle fast motion much better. Now the only thing to be seen is what the prices for these screens will be. If not immediately, they should quickly become cheaper than LCD and plasma screens.

There is a new handheld gaming system in town and it demands your attention. I am talking about the new Nintendo DS. For those of you unfamiliar this is Nintendo's new handheld system designed with 2 screens, wifi multiplayer access and touch screen technology. The system has a clamshell design and the controls are layed out on both sides of the bottom touch screen. For touch screen accuracy the system comes with both a stylus just like those that come with PDAs and a thumbstrap designed to fit over your thumb to prevent oils from the hand off of the screen. The internal hardware of the DS is more powerfull then that of the Nintendo 64 released just eight years ago. DS games are cartridge based, can hold FMV sequences and the system handles both 2D and 3D graphics.

This new system brings revolutionary gameplay to the handheld console market. With the ability of touch screen abilities the player now has more precise and accurate almost pc like controls for gameplay. The system even comes loading with Picto Chat, a 16 person capable chat program where users can send messages and drawings over a wireless network connection.

I've been able to get my hands on the system and go for a test run with Picto Chat and the demo for the upcoming Metroid game for the DS, which by the way also comes loaded on the DS system. First thing you notice with the system upon booting up this new Metroid is the use of the two screens. An FMV sequence of Samus is played useding the two screens as she stands vertically with her upper body displayed on the top screen and her lower half on the bottom screen. Once you into the menu screens you have the choice of various control schemes for the game. I prefer the use of the stylus for movement, but there is another choice is using the stylus for gun aiming and shooting. In my control mode of choice, the stylus or your thumb if you prefer use either to grace over the bottom screen on top of a visible map of the immediate area Samus is located in. Then you have the ability to use either shoulder button to fire her weapon. Also located on the bottom screen are weapon choices to select and the ability to switch Samus into her famous rolling ball mode.

I am really interested to see where the gameplay oportunities the system offers takes players in the future. Certainly we will see games where gameplay spans both screens and others will take advantage of the touch screen abilities. Certainly the most innovative games will take advantage of all these abilities and players will truly benefit from fantastic gameplay.
I am reworking this blog, the blog will be up shortly and updated on a more frequent basis. The topics of discussion coming to the newly named Blogzilla will be centered on computing, electronics, internet and pc/video games.
This is a test, this is a test of the emergency broadcast system. This is only a test.

"a head, one bottom and a torso cannot possibly fly on its own."

Oh My God. Those bastards at Air France wouldn't let a limbless woman onto one of their flights. Who says shit like that to a person? I mean really, come on man what's with you?

Yet again another Volcano serves a possible near future threat to the people of our planet. Yay! Rock attached to the Cumbre Vieja Volcano in the Canary Islands is slipping into the Atlantic. Once this occurs scientists say it could send a massive title wave that could wipe out The west coast of Africa, Europe, and the east coast of the U.S. Just don't hope for an erruption. Horray for Volcanoes!

Hello everyone, it has been quite some time since my last update. A lot has happened since then. Unfortunately still no job. But I'm not here for personal reasons really. This is where I talk pop-culture and recommend you look at funny pictures, captions and articles.

Just a little while ago I learned of this supervolcano that lies in Yellowstone National Park. According to Volcanologists this Supervolcano supposedly errupts every 600,000 years. Well guess what. It's been 640,000 years since the last erruption. So it is 40,000 years overdue. Well what's another 40,000? So this is a potential major threat to to our planet and North America. According to what I have read they say Signs of increased volcanic activity have recently been observed in and around Yellowstone National Park. The north part of Yellowstone Lake has bulged by nearly 170 feet over the past 50 years.

Now I know what you are wondering. Jason what does this mean for all of us?
It means we could be in a heap of shit.

I am talking about Burger Kings www.subserviantchicken.com Go to that site and you'll find what looks like live streaming video of a man in a large chicken outfit. In the box below you can tell him what to do. Type it in, he'll likely do it. Have him utilize the room as well, it's good fun for a while.
